5W - Mladen 9A2NA, Rolando 9A3MR, Livio 9A7Y and Borut S50B will be
active as 5W0LM from Malololelei near Apia, Samoa (OC-097) on 1-14
October. They will operate CW and SSB (plus FT8 "just for relax")
on 160-6 metres with 2-3 stations. QSL via 9A3MR and LoTW.
8P - Greg, N9GB will be active holiday style as 8P9GB from Barbados (NA-
021) on 8-15 September. He will be QRV on 60-10 metres, and will
also give 6m a try; he will operate mainly SSB during local after-

D4 - Harald, DF2WO will be active again as D44TWO from Sao Tiago (AF-
005), Cape Verde on 2-17 September. He will operate CW, SSB and FT8
on the HF bands and 6 metres, as well as via the QO-100 satellite.

E5_nc - Janusz, SP9FIH will be active as E51JAN from Manihiki (OC-014),
North Cook Islands from 12 October to 6 November. QSL via Club

EA - Special event callsigns EG1SDC-EG9SDC (1-7 September) and EH1SDC-
EH9SDC (8-10 September) will be activated to commemorate Day of
Asturias and the principality's patron saint, popularly known as
The Santina de Covadonga. This is the 39th edition of the 'SDC'
special event. Also active are expected to be EG39SDC and ED3SDC.
QSL for all callsigns via EA1AUM (direct or bureau), LoTW and eQSL.

ON - OO35ATH is the special callsign for members of the Radio Club de
Ath (ON4ATH) to celebrate their club's 35th anniversary on 1-30
September.
OZ - Mike, DG5LAC will be active as OZ/DG5LAC from Romo Island (EU-125)
on 1-13 September. He will operate FT8, FT4 and some SSB. QSL via
Club Log's OQRS, LoTW, eQSL.
OZ - Jan-Willem PA7JWC (5Q7DX), Maarten PD2R (OV2T) and Sven PA1SVM (OZ/
PA1SVM) will be active from Saeby, Vendsyssel-Thy (North Jutland,
EU-171) on 12-19 September. They will operate CW, SSB and FT8 on
160-2m. QSL 5Q7DX via PA7JWC and LoTW (preferred), and logsearch
on Club Log; QSL OV2T via PA0ABM and LoTW (preferred).
PY - ZV201ID is the special callsign for LABRE, the Liga de Amadores
Brasileiros de Radio Emissao, to mark the 201st anniversary of the
independence of Brazil on 3-9 September. QSL via LoTW.
V6 - Cezar, VE3LYC [425DXN 1680] will be active as V62P from Pulap Atoll
(OC-155) and as V62S from Satawal Atoll (OC-299, new one for IOTA)
between 25 October and 12 November. This will be a "full-time
operation", with plans to be QRV on 30-10 metres CW and SSB for 5-7
days from each atoll. QSL via Club Log's OQRS, or via VE3LYC.

V7 - Previously QRV as V7/N7XR [425DXN 1675], Bob expects to return to
Kwajalein (OC-028), Marshall Islands sometime in September and be
active as V73XR for three months. QSL via Club Log's OQRS.
VK - Operated by a number of YL operators in Tasmania (VK7) and around
the rest of Australia, special callsign VI7ALARA is active on the
HF bands until 8 November to mark the Australian Ladies Amateur
Radio Association's meet (http://www.alara.org.au/) to be held in
Hobart. QSL via Club Log's OQRS.
VU - Indian radio amateurs are allowed to append "3CY" to the suffix of
their callsigns (e.g. VU2TUM/3CY) from 23 to 30 August. This is to
commemorate the Chandrayaan-3 lunar exploration mission, which
successfully landed a spacecraft near the Moon's south pole region
on 23 August. Also celebrating Chandrayaan-3 are special callsigns
AT2ISRO, AT3CYN, AT3MON and AT3MOON.
W - Matt, AF2F will be active as K4H from Hatteras Island (NA-067) from
23 August to 3 September. He will operate CW and FT8. QSL via Club
Log's OQRS.

joined the multi-national team that will be active from Robinson Crusoe
Island (SA-005), Juan Fernandez on 13-20 February 2024 [425DXN 1683]. There
will be four stations for SSB, CW and RTTY; plus a station for FT8 and an-

MS0INT ---> The 25-28 August operation from Fair Isle [425DXN 1685] has been
cancelled ("no flights all weekend due to low level clouds surrounding Shet-
land"), and there will be "no activity from mainland Shetland either, as all

WRTC 2026 ---> The WRTC 2026 Organising Committee has announced the Selec-
tion Criteria for entrants: https://www.wrtc2026.org/selection-criteria/.
Everyone interested in qualifying for WRTC 2026 must do so by operating in a
variety of contests between October 2023 and March 2025. There will be 15
qualifying events (with the 8 best scores counting), and 42 qualifying teams
across 30 Qualification Areas. In addition to the geographically selected
teams, the Defending Champions, 4 Youth Teams (entrants must be under age 26
at 11 July 2026), at least 2 Sponsored Teams, and at least 1 Wild Card Team
will be invited.
+ SILENT KEY + Carlos Gustavo Lacarrubba "Laca" Pellon, ZP5CGL was killed in
a work accident on 22 August. Born in 1955, he was a DXer, a contester and
an active member of the board of the Radio Club Paraguayo for many years.
